Ebony Young Fair

Ebony Young Fair is a zealous legal advocate, serving clients in the areas of construction, real estate and business law. Ms. Young Fair believes in providing personalized representation tailored to each client’s needs which is paramount to her daily practice.

Ms. Young Fair provides legal assistance and support to both small and large businesses throughout each phase of the business life cycle, including selecting the correct entity type, legally forming the business, drafting necessary governance documents and operating agreements, advising on yearly compliance with state entities, and formerly dissolving and terminating the business. Ms. Young Fair assists her clients with their transactional matters (contracts, licensing, liens, insurance, and regulatory matters, etc.) In her years of practice, Ms. Young Fair has assisted over fifty businesses in Texas with successfully obtaining historically underutilized business (HUB) certifications and 501 c3 nonprofit status from the IRS.

Ms. Young Fair helps private and publicly traded companies finance, acquire and develop commercial real estate and construct their building facilities throughout the United States. In particular, she represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers with commercial construction projects, and if necessary, in mediation, arbitration and litigation.

As to residential construction projects, Ms. Young Fair represents homeowners, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers and material suppliers in various construction disputes throughout Texas. Ms. Young Fair has successfully litigated residential construction liability (RCLA) suits, from the perspective of the homeowner and contractor, as well as breach of contract and lien suits between general contractors and subcontractors. Notably, Ms. Young Fair assisted a Texas homeowner with recovering $500,000.00 from a builder due to significant construction defects found within the home.

In addition to her experience in construction law, Ms. Young Fair previously represented clients in infrastructure cases focusing on drainage issues and ADA accessibility. Ms. Young Fair worked with the City of Houston to successfully obtain over 3000 feet of improved sidewalk accessibility for people with disabilities in a North Houston community. During the pandemic Ms. Young Fair also represented both landlords and tenants in eviction and writ of reentry proceedings.

In 2021, Ms. Young Fair was recognized by the National Black Lawyers Association as one of the Top 40 under 40 lawyers in Texas.
